"Cause No Harm...Respect the Healing Power of Nature"
AANHCP
My name is Aaron Thayne, I am a natural hoof care practitioner, trained by the AANHCP. I first and foremost serve the horse and the hooves they stand on. Natural Hoof Care (NHC) is a "holistic or 'whole horse' approach to hoof care based on exemplary hooves and natural lifestyle of America's Great Basin wild, free roaming horses. The 'wild horse model,' is a proven system for giving horses not only the healthiest and soundest hooves possible, but the healthiest bodies and minds too! NHC is all about "being natural," and that means 'being healthy.' The wild horse model tells us exactly what equine health means and what we must do to achieve it. NHC is equally about developing a healthy and humane relationship with horses. 'Cause no harm' is a core principle of NHC"
(J. Jackson AANHCP Field Guide)
"NHC principles require that we view the hoof as an extension and reflection of the horse's entire lifestyle. For many domestic horses, their lives are anything but natural by wild horse standards. And this is often reflected in misshapen, weak, and unsound feet attached to unhappy horses. [NHC] practitioners turn this around by helping 'naturalize' the horse's lifestyle based on what we have learned from wild horses living in natural habitats."(J. Jackson AANHCP Field Guide)
I promote and practice AANHCP’s vital mission, “To advance the humane care and management of domestic equines worldwide through the applications of proven practices and principles based on the research and findings by Jaime Jackson of the wild, free-roaming equines of the U.S. Great Basin.”
